ILA committee interest form
by Aaron Skog 23 Feb '23

23 Feb '23

Hello SWAN Board reps- There was some discussion at the board meeting last week in ILA committees. The interest form is available online for ranking your choices. https://www.ila.org/about/committees There was some discussion about Public Policy Committee, Advocacy Committee, and others. I do know that Public Policy Committee tends to be the most popular one, and I was attending those meetings remotely up through Diane Foote's retirement. You can rank your 3 committee choices on the form. Several SWAN Board members have participated in ILA on some level prior, so feel free to share your thoughts! by Aaron Skog 21 Feb '23

21 Feb '23

Hi SWAN Board reps- The Investment of Public Funds policy is posted on SWAN Support under the "Board Policies & Legal Documents" section. Here is a link to the policy that we will review at the March 17th meeting. https://support.swanlibraries.net/policy/64796 I will be sending a calendar appointment update shortly for the meeting location to change from Bloomingdale to Thomas Ford Memorial Library. One additional note: After Friday's meeting, Scott followed up on the bounced email statistic and there were some adjustments identified by IT & System Support Manager Ian Nosek. Those adjustments are being put into effect today so we hope to see those bounce numbers improve. SWAN Finance Committee Meeting 11/10/22 agenda & packet posted
by Aaron Skog 07 Nov '22

07 Nov '22

Hello SWAN Board representatives- The agenda and packet for the meeting this week of the SWAN Finance Committee is now posted. The board committee reps are Tim, Jesse, and Colleen, and we will meet at SWAN headquarters on Thursday 1 p.m. This budget packet is quite detailed and therefore has a packet page count of 75 pages. https://support.swanlibraries.net/meeting/92395 I have included some questions at the beginning of the memo that came up during the drafting of the FY24 budget. I am sorry to say that I do not have a membership fees chart created yet-I am still waiting for tax data from the Cook County Treasurers Office. You will see that the RAILS LLSAP grant award to SWAN was lower for FY24. I have included the award letter and a memo explaining why the grant formula lowered the amount to SWAN. There are two SWAN policies included for discussion. I have nothing specific to change with those policies, but it is good practice to review them each year.
