SWAN Board,
Last month at our meeting at Prairie State College, the SWAN Board discussed how we should
handle consortia-wide decisions for the migration. The guidelines we decided upon were to
focus on (1) policy changes, and (2) financial impact.
As the SWAN migration comes into rapid focus, I would like to have my management team
provide you an overview tomorrow of the big picture changes.
I have asked Member Services Manager Kate Boyle, Special Project Coordinator Rebecca
Malinowski, Bibliographic Services Manager Kate Boyle, and IT Manager Steven Schlewitt to
join us at the meeting tomorrow.
Kate will present some of the big changes we could take within our new Symphony ILS
configuration. Much of the big changes only came into focus this week when we received
our first draft of the migration timeline from SirsiDynix. The changes we will discuss
are big and involve the consortium taking a patron-centric approach.
