[SWANboard] Two Big Vendor Announcements

SWAN Board: There are two press releases today that I think are worth sharing with you all. Bibliotheca is purchasing the 3M Library System: http://www.bibliotheca.com/3/index.php/en-us/enews-media/global-press-relea… The other big news is Proquest just acquired Ex Libris. In case you are not familiar with Ex Libris, they are in the academic library market, having a new web-based ILS called Alma and the older Voyager (which they got when they acquired the company Endeavor). http://www.proquest.com/blog/pqblog/2015/ProQuest-to-Acquire-Ex-Libris.html Back on August 27 the CEO of Innovative Interfaces, Kim Massana abruptly resigned. The rumor I heard was that Innovative Interfaces was negotiating with Proquest for this deal, and ultimately failed. The JMI Equity owners demanded he then step down due to this failure.
