Dear SWAN Board Members:
Attached please find the SWAN Executive Director Evaluation Form to be used for Aaron's 2024 evaluation. Here is the timeline for next steps to occur:
1.
Aaron will send out his self-evaluation to all board members this week.
2.
Please read his self-evaluation and take it into account as you fill out your own evaluations. As discussed at Friday's meeting, please take into consideration Aaron's discussion of his progress on professional goals set last year and new goals set for the coming year.
3.
Then please email me individually your completed form by Friday, June 7.
4.
By Friday, June 14, I will send out the composite evaluation and a suggested range of raise options for your consideration.
5.
By Thursday, June 20, please send me another individual email with your raise opinion and whether you see any need for an executive session.
6.
At our regularly scheduled meeting on June 21, we will hold an executive session if needed. We may also opt to hold a discussion of Aaron's professional goals in open session.
7.
I will meet privately with Aaron to convey the results of the composite evaluation and raise awarded.

Dear SWAN Board
As I mentioned last week at the Board meeting - I suggest that SWAN make available to the membership monthly circ stats ( nothing crazy just total circ's )consortia-wide. It would give member libraries a baseline to compare their experience to that of the consortia as a whole. For example, we saw a 9% increase in circ's in April 2024 - compared to April 2023 - I had a Board member ask if that is happening elsewhere or just at my library. This might be a SWAN goal for 24/25

Dear Fellow Board Members,
Since we only had 5 members present at this morning's meeting, I just wanted to say in an email what I said in person about the Board self-evaluation:
We had one question that was poorly written: "I participate fully in discussions and feel free to express my opinions." It was poorly written because it was asking about two things, not one. Also, on that question, we had one respondent answer "neutral." I know that's not disagreement, but I would like our board to be one where everyone feels free to express their opinions. I don't know who gave what answers, so I just wanted to say that if anyone does not feel free to express their opinions at meetings, please reach out to me privately to discuss it, so I could learn how to better make space for everyone. If for some reason you don't feel comfortable reaching out to me privately, then possibly you could reach out to one of our other officers and ask them to convey any suggestions for improvement you may have.
Thanks, and have a great weekend everyone!
