Over the last six months, SWAN, LINC, and MAGIC staff have been working together to coordinate the most effective plan for the upcoming migration. While our initial plan-built with the help of SirsiDynix-was a great starting point, we understood the need for flexibility in that plan and knew nothing was immune from a potential shifting of dates. Based on internal discussion, prior migration experience, and discussions with SirsiDynix personnel assigned to this project, we have decided to move away from two separate go-live dates for the 19 new libraries joining SWAN and will instead have a single go-live date for LINC and MAGIC libraries on May 1, 2018. We are confident this decision will minimize downtime for all 97 libraries and will provide the cleanest migration of data. We have not yet distributed this information to SWAN, LINC, or MAGIC libraries, but will be making the announcement through all available communications channels this week (SWANcom, support site post, and New 19 Newsletter).
