Although the report queue has a lot of catching up to do and likely will not be fully caught up until late this evening, the most significant of our overnight maintenance reports have concluded successfully. At the end of the report, we processed around 126,000 record changes, as compared to 15,000 on most typical nights. We’ll continue to investigate why so many records were processed through the system, but in the meantime, all locked records, both patron and bibliographic, should now be resolved. Additionally, all libraries can resume normal operations, including regular cataloging.

We’re still observing the long-running overnight maintenance report, ADUtext, but are closely watching the processing record volumes and are hopeful that the largest aspect of the processing will soon conclude. Following that, several other much shorter maintenance reports remain, but we’ve suspended non-essential morning and afternoon system reports to make room for regularly scheduled library reports when those conclude.

Until the long-running overnight processing concludes and SWAN has sent an “all clear” update, please refrain from all WorkFlows activities except Checkout and Checkin.

 

We’re continuing to investigate the reason for these long-running overnight maintenance reports, but suspect the issue is relating to an unusually high number of records processing through the update. Throughout the morning, you are likely to encounter errors until these reports have concluded including “Hatwrapper Exception” and “Records in Use.” Additionally, many records may be unsearchable in WorkFlows by name, as this maintenance impacts our record indexing process.

 

Should you encounter records with errors, please make note of the records and submit a ticket to help@swanlibraries.net. It’s likely these errors will clear once the reports conclude, but we’ll double-check to ensure that’s the case later today.
