We have implemented User Category 11 in patron records to represent Hold Pickup Preference. The majority of libraries will not use this category and can simply ignore the field.

For libraries who have a Drive-up window at your library, this provides a means to identify their preference. This can be printed on the hold wrapper enabling staff to follow the patron's choice. Current options include: DRIVEUP, DESK, OPEN, and UNKNOWN. 

We are open to suggestions for re-labeling User Category 11 if "Hold Pickup Preference" is confusing.  Thanks to Glen Ellyn in working with us to find a solution that could be implemented across SWAN as more convenience windows are added throughout our membership.
