Processing deliveries

You will continue to see numerous items that will be routed to another library even though there are holds for you patrons. When the item that was trapped for your patron was checked out to MISSTRNSIT your patron’s hold went back to the top of the hold queue. As the On Shelf Items with Holds reports were processed and other items were checked in these holds had new items trapped for them and they are now on the way to you for your patron.

Please follow the directions you see on your screen.

Indexing issues

The maintenance reports were completed last night. However we are still experiencing some issues with patron alerts showing available holds when there aren’t any holds on the hold shelf for them. We have contacted SirsiDynix regarding this and hope to have the problem fixed as soon as possible. Please check the patron Holds tab for an accurate look at their holds.

On Shelf Items with Holds reports

You should see your reports returning to normal numbers today and tomorrow as most of the newly re-opened holds were trapped yesterday.

In Transit Shelf Check reports

There will be shelf check reports this week after all. There were some items that were not checked out to the MISSTRNSIT patron so there will be (much smaller) shelf check reports this week. If you don’t see a tab for your library at the bottom then you have nothing to check.

We will continue to keep you updated as we attempt to rectify the issues created with this mishap. We would also like to thank you for your patience and extra effort put forth by you all during this. Please contact SWAN Member Services with any other questions and/or issues you may be experiencing.

Subject: [SWANcom] **UPDATE** Items checked out to MISSTRNSIT

Many of you have most likely seen much larger On Shelf Items with Holds reports today. You are seeing this because patron holds were added back to the top of the hold queue for items that had been in transit to fill holds.

It also appears some indexing did not occur last night as we are experiencing some issues with patron alerts showing the patron has item(s) available but when you check their holds tab there is nothing available. We are hoping this will be rectified with tonight’s maintenance reports.

We again apologize for the inconveniences created with this mishap. Please contact SWAN Member Services with any other questions and/or issues you may be experiencing.

Subject: [SWANcom] Items checked out to MISSTRNSIT

Yesterday was the first day the MISSTRNSIT report was scheduled to run on a daily basis. It was unfortunately configured incorrectly which caused all items in transit to be checked out to the MISSTRNSIT user. The report has been corrected and will run as expected in the future.

The checkout to MISSTRNSIT placed your patron back at the top of the hold queue. As you process your delivery bins over the next few days you may see a higher number of items routing to other libraries to fill holds, or back to their home library because your patron’s hold was filled by another item in the interim. This will not affect any items currently on your holdshelf. Once the item is checked in the previous user will display as MISSTRNSIT.

You will not be receiving the In Transit Shelf Check Reports this week as there will be no items that fit the criteria (10-30 days in transit).

We will continue to update you as we gain more information with this issue.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please contact SWAN Member Services if you experience other complications.
