I have received a progress report from SirsiDynix. At this time, most library collections have been corrected. The Oak Park Public Library is still missing the shared Overdrive collection on their profile, though the Advantage titles are appearing normally. SD Support is continuing to work towards a resolution for their collection. All other libraries should see all of their econtent at this time.
To confirm your collection’s presence in your profile:
· Navigate to your library’s public profile (catalog.swanlibraries.net/xxx where xxx is your three letter code)
· Select “Digital Catalog” from the search target box (first drop down)
· Click Search without entering search terms to see a complete list of your econtent.
You will see the total count for all vendors at the top of your results (# results found), as well as counts by Electronic Format in the first facet on the left side of the screen.
At this time, the SD Support team is not sure why this issue affected some libraries but not others. Both SD Support and SWAN will continue to monitor these collections. As always, if you observe any issues with your collections, please email help@swanlibraries.net so we can investigate.

This morning I spoke with the manager of discovery support at SirsiDynix. They have identified a resolution for this issue and are working through the list of affected libraries to correct the problem. Acorn Public Library should now be seeing all expected Overdrive content in Enterprise.
I have requested an estimate on completing the work for the rest of the libraries, and will send both the estimate and a list of the newly corrected collections by the end of the day.

SirsiDynix Support has no new information on this issue at this time. I will share anything I am able to learn tomorrow, as soon as I'm able.
Thank you for your continued patience.

Rebecca

To All SWAN Libraries:
I have been in touch with SirsiDynix support again this morning, and have no new information to share on this case. Based on my testing this morning, the issue remains isolated to the Overdrive collections of the libraries listed in my previous email (below).
To answer the questions I received since sending the initial email on Friday:
· Is there anything we (library staff or SWAN staff) need to do to add new titles to our eRC collections? No. The process is automated. When titles are added to your econtent collections with supported vendors, an import process it automatically triggered for eRC. When working correctly, the items are imported into the eRC admin console that SWAN administers, and then automatically added to the Digital Catalog of the proper Enterprise profile.
· Can you clarify whether it is recently added titles that are not appearing or give more information on how the collections are behaving? Based on my Friday conversation with SirsiDynix support, the problem is with the indexing portion of the import process. The collections are reindexed as part of automated processes mentioned above. Somewhere during that process, the indexes for some libraries’ Overdrive collections were damaged, leaving them unusable. From what I can tell, no titles from the collections with bad indexes are appearing in Enterprise. Some of the affected libraries will still see Overdrive content in their profiles because their Advantage collections have a separate, properly functioning, index.
I will stay in touch with SirsiDynix support this afternoon, and will send another update by the end of the day.

Subject: UPDATE: Overdrive Content in eResource Central
To All SWAN Libraries:
This evening I spoke with SirsiDynix Support and learned that they are aware of the issue and have already escalated it to development and given it high priority. A number of customers in addition to SWAN are impacted by this problem. A list of affected SWAN libraries is below.
The issue is in the import and indexing of the eRC titles. When new titles are added and the collection reindexes, somehow the indexes are becoming corrupted. During my conversation with support I asked if libraries should suspend purchasing of new ebooks if possible, but was advised that it is not necessary.
At this time, the issue appears to be isolated to Overdrive collections. While titles are not accessible to users via Enterprise, Overdrive collections at mediaondemand.org, mymediamall.net and emedialibrary.lib.overdrive.com are available in their entirety.
We do not yet have an expected resolution date, stay in contact with SirsiDynix regarding new developments. We expect to have more information on Monday.
Libraries affected by the issue are:
· ADS
· BPS
· BYS
· CHS
· CNS
· CWS
· DOS
· EPS
· ESS
· EVS
· FRS
· GWS

Subject: Overdrive Content in eResource Central
To SWAN Library Staff:
Last week, one library reported missing Overdrive content from their eRC collection in Enterprise, which we were able to remedy. Today two libraries made similar reports. After receiving the reports, I began checking other libraries in the Media On Demand group and found that several libraries are missing the shared collection from their profiles. It appears that advantage collections are not being impacted.
I have opened a high priority case with SirsiDynix to investigate the cause of this issue. It does not appear to be related to today’s Enterprise login issues.
At this time, I do not have a complete list of affected libraries. I am continuing to test profiles. So far, I have observed that
· BCS, BIS, BWS, BVS, HSS, have their content.
· ADS, BPS, BYS, MDS, OLS, OPS, and WRS are missing content.
If your Enterprise profile appears to be missing content, please send a ticket to help@swanlibraries.net.
We will continue to work with SirsiDynix to identify a cause and implement a solution. I will send updates as they become available.
