Article Search is going live in Enterprise for all SWAN member libraries on August 7th, 2019.
What is Article Search?
Article Search is an EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) integration in the catalog. It can be found via the drop down or the tab.
Article Search searches your EBSCO and Gale full text subscription databases to find relevant journal articles located within those databases for your users’ research needs. It is an excellent resource for students and adults who are looking to research topics, find articles, and/or collect information. Article Search uses Open Athens for single sign on authentication so once a user is logged in, they never have to authenticate again in that session. Article Search helps to enhance your database subscription usage by supplying relevant information in one interface. It contains a free EBSCO database called Research Starters. Research Starters are short encyclopedia-like summaries of more than 70,000 popular topics. They provide patrons with a starting point for research. If you have limited database subscriptions, we have enabled Directory of Open Access Journals to supply Article Search with content. You can find out more about DOAJ here https://doaj.org/
There are trainings coming up for Article Search starting on August 28th. The trainings will be online via GoToMeeting and will be taught by Robin Hofstetter the SWAN Consultant, eResources. You can find the calendar to register for the trainings here along with other upcoming SWAN trainings https://www.librarylearning.info/tags/?SWAN2019 If you have any questions please send a help ticket to help@swanlibraries.net
