We believe the issue was caused by a recent change to the EBSCO Novelist service. After disabling the service, the outages and excess load on the Symphony server subsided. We will be leaving the EBSCO Novelist service disabled throughout the weekend to maintain server stability and follow-up with EBSCO to troubleshoot further on Monday. We’ve created a new Known Issue to track the outage of EBSCO Novelist.
