We have encountered a number of LARGE PRINT materials missing the 590 LARGE PRINT tag.

Please remember that the 590 tag feeds the format facet in Enterprise. If you put the wrong terminology or forget to add the 590 tag, patrons will place holds on wrong records.  In order to optimize everyone’s work and avoid angry patrons, please add a 590 tag to all materials EXCEPT regular print size books.    

For Cataloging libraries:

-        If you use SmartPort please enter the correct 590 terminology to imported records, along with a 946 with your library’s three-letter code, your initials and the date. 

-        Add a date cataloged to the Control Tab.

 For Cataloging libraries that use a batchloading process, please remember to add the 590 tag to all materials except regular print size books.
