Innovative Acquires VTLS

These are exciting times at Innovative and I am very pleased to announce that we have acquired VTLS, a leader in providing practical, scalable solutions to the library community for more than 30 years.
Headquartered in Blacksburg, Virginia, VTLS has a diverse customer base of more than 2,100 libraries in 44 countries with a strong family of library technology products including the Virtua ILS and VITAL, a powerful digital asset management system.
I will lead the combined companies from Innovative’s headquarters in Emeryville with members of the VTLS development, support and sales teams joining the Innovative management group. Dr. Vinod Chachra, founder and former President and CEO of VTLS, will join Innovative as Vice President for Global Expansion to ensure a smooth transition for VTLS libraries.
VTLS’s current offices in Blacksburg, Virginia; Barcelona, Spain; and Kuala Lumpur (Selangor), Malaysia will be retained and become Innovative centers for operations along with our offices In Syracuse, Dublin, Noida, Madrid, and Taiwan.
