Sorry, guys. I forgot to include you all in my response to Aaron. Being on vacation fries your brain, I guess.

Can you spell "selfish?" Or would "self absorbed" be better? Actually, this sounds a lot like a library finding a dog to kick when things go badly. I would think Orland would have a better appreciation of the meaning of unjustified criticism than this article seems to indicate.

On the practical note, I think a letter from a "big library" director like David would be very useful in counteracting the impression that only small libraries can benefit from being in a consortium.

In case some of you have missed the article, I thought I would share with you the Chicago Tribune article which noted the large increase in circulation.

SWAN of course was mentioned in it, negatively of course. They cannot resist that.

The RAILS Leadership team felt that it portrayed consortium in a bad light, so Dee suggested she write a letter to the editor about the topic of resource sharing. I offered to help with the letter. Dee also was thinking that it would be good to have a letter from a SWAN library director.  Any thoughts on if a letter should be sent or if we should approach a library director. Dee was thinking of David Seleb, mostly because of a large public library joining SWAN.
